The Regional Association of Solid Waste Management Agencies (FODSA) of Central Macedonia instructed the elaboration of a Hydrogeological Report of Technical Geological Data in the context of investigating the occurrence of liquids in an area outside the landfill. Edessa P.E. Pella at Aspro Kefali.
Based on the conclusions of the above research, actions are proposed that concern combined measures on the one hand, the reduction of surface waters that quantitatively enrich the outflows of the old X.D.A. and on the other hand the discharge by pumping the saturated part in its southeastern part.
The project includes the drilling of three boreholes as water supply projects in order to reduce the outflows in the collection area that was identified by the tomographs and that seems to be connected to the old X.D.A..
It is pointed out that the drillings are opened in places of the Landfill. except for insulated waste disposal cells. The exact location of the proposed boreholes (D1, D2, D3) is determined by the coordinates (EGSA ‘87).
