Thermi and Derveni Environmental Parks
For the first time in Greece, in former Uncontrolled Waste Disposal Areas, which were a source of pollution and contamination, environmental parks have been created through extensive redevelopment that upgrades the environment and the surrounding area. The Environmental Parks of Thermi and Derveni, in eastern and western Thessaloniki respectively, now function as places of recreation and information and receive on a daily basis visitors from all over Central Macedonia.
The green areas, covering an area of hundreds of acres, have entertainment and sports infrastructure while the quality of restoration of the environment impress the visitors.
