The Solid Waste Transfer Station of the NW Urban Complex of Thessaloniki is a basic choice of regional waste management planning. It has been funded by the Regional Development Fund and National Resources, while fully covering all environmental requirements of European and Greek legislation. 40% of the waste of the central Municipality of Thessaloniki and the waste of the Municipalities of Ampelokipi – Menemeni, Neapoli – Sykies, Oreokastro, Delta, Kordelio – Evosmos and Chalkidona are transferred to the premises. With the operation of the garbage trucks, they have been reduced annually by 50%, offering savings of human resources for the Municipalities, but also a general reduction of the cost of cleaning management, for the benefit of the citizens.
